Do you share your work? Are you proud of your work? In this post, I will sprinkle some of my favorite art pieces and also ask you questions that you should think about.

Are You Proud of Your Work?

You feel good when you create. It’s you and your supplies. You have ideas. The proof of your talent is how you create your art. All that art that you created is you. Maybe it’s a project you did in 4th grade. Yes, I had such a project.

Once and for all, unapologetically know that you are an artist. When I say be proud of your work, I mean be proud of your work like the kids who create. Art makes kids curious, smile, giggle and want to show someone. Kids always ask for more paper. They never think of art being good or bad. Even if they do start over it’s because they have a better idea!

Do you share your work because it’s just what you are working on.

We don’t share our work because we fear what people will think. That we will be made fun of or told we are no artist. The truth is who cares what people think. We need to be proud of who we are.

My deep magenta roses painting didn’t work out, but they are perfect to test out the layering technique to explore how to paint leaves. Sometimes I hesitate to post work in progress for fear of people judging my full skills on my work in progress. As I look at my magenta roses now, I realize what a great start! My leaves need a little movement but why did I dismiss these roses? Probably because it’s not the way my favorite artist painted. Silly thoughts I had. I wish I had kept these roses so I can add details.
